Ground Transport Operators

Information for taxis, ride share, pre-booked vehicles and limousine operators.

All taxis, ride share, pre-booked vehicles or limousines that wish to pick up and drop off passengers at Rockhampton Airport must ensure they are registered as a ground transport operator.

All Ground Transport Operators must at all times operate the business from the Airport professionally and competently. 

Passengers must be dropped off at the front of the terminal in the taxi/ride share lane, no other area within the airport precinct is allowed.  For information on designated drop off and pick up areas can be found here:  Ground Transport Zone(PDF, 222KB)

Ground Transport Fees and Charges

For each exit of the taxi/ride share lane a charge of $3.00 is applied.

Fair Avoidance

Drivers will incur the maximum fee of $12.00 for each occurrence where they drop-off or pick-up passengers in unauthorised areas to avoid the Airport fee.

Passenger Rights

A passenger has the right to choose their destination.  If they do not want to pay the Airport fee the passenger cannot be dropped off in the Airport precinct.  They may be dropped off in Hunter Street before the Airport entry billboard sign.
