Proudly Connecting People and Places

Rockhampton Airport (ROK) is a key regional airport in Australia, serving the city of Rockhampton and Central Queensland. It provides domestic connections to destinations such as Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville, and Cairns, with commercial passenger aircraft including Dash 8s, E-190s, and B737s. The airport also supports charter flights for the mining industry, transporting passengers to and from regional hubs like Labona.

Rockhampton Airport plays a pivotal role in supporting annual and biennial military exercises, such as Exercise Wallaby and Talisman Sabre, hosting international aircraft and troops from around the globe. With a runway capable of accommodating some of the world’s largest aircraft, including the AN-124, Rockhampton Airport has been a critical part of these efforts since the late 1980s.

Conveniently located just 5 km from Rockhampton’s city centre, the airport services approximately 650,000 passengers annually, a number that continues to grow.

As a commercial business unit of Rockhampton Regional Council, Rockhampton Airport is responsible for the efficient management and operations of the facility, supporting the region’s connectivity and economic growth.
